Wynrs NZ received an exclusive invitation to take part in the world famous Aarau Masters 2009 (age group 1998.) The tour started early February with a stopover
at Hong Kong Disneyland. The football action proceeded with a trip to Munich.

The two year unbeaten Wynrs team got a footballing lesson from the mighty Bayern Munich U-11’s at the first team training centre on the “Sebenerstr”. Despite the 13-0 hammering (8v8) the boys were very fortunate to play as all other academy games were cancelled due to snow and minus 3 temperatures.

The following day Wynrs were treated to a personal invitation from Bayern head coach Juergen Klinsmann. We were the only visitors allowed to watch the training session of the first team. At least 300 fans were waiting outside the Sebenerstrasse for a glimpse of the superstars. After training the Wynrs boys got their photo taken with many of the Bayern stars as well as autographs: Schweinsteiger, Klose (German national player Miroslav promised the Kiwis 2 goals the following day), Donovan (USA.) Juergen took time out to talk to the boys and answer the many questions they had about pro football.

Bremen was the next stop. Another home coming for Wynton plus the exciting press release of “Werder Worldwide” and the official introduction of Oceania’s Player of the Century as Patron for this new international project with Werder Bremen. All the Wynrs players were invited to the press conference which also included a tour of the stadium, museum and first team training.
