NZ GOVT HONOURS WYNTON

Wynton
was at Government House Wellington this week to
receive the highest honour bestowed on a football
personality in NZ history. The Investiture Ceremony
undertaken on behalf of the Queen of England was
fitting tribute to the international career of one of
New Zealand’s greatest ever sportsmen.
The list below shows the 5 levels of honours. The names include sporting personalities only.
Level 1- Sir Richard Hadlee, Sir Peter Snell, Dame Susan Devoy, Sir Peter Blake.
Distinguished- Russell Coutts, Colin Meads.
Campanion – Wynton Rufer, Gordon Tietjens, Jock Hobbs, Les Mills, Michael Campbell.
Officer- C Dempsey, H Carter, R Waddell, S Fitzpatrick and other gold medal winners.
Member- K Fallon.
