The WYNRS Onehunga Sports 11th grade premier side has won the 28 team Papakura Invitational tournament held on Sunday 21st June 2009.



The 28 teams included 1 or in some cases 2 or 3 teams from the following clubs: Albany, Bay Olympic, Birkenhead, Bucklands Beach, Drury, East Coast Bays, Eastern Suburbs, Fencibles, Hamilton, Manurewa, Papakura, Pukekohe, Three Kings, Western Springs, Waiuku, and of course Onehunga.

Onehunga Soccer 11th Grade Premiers won all their pool rounds as follows:
1 : 0 vs. Three Kings Clarke (Goals: Sarpreet Singh)
4 : 1  vs. Birkenhead Broncos (Goals: Aleks Dabek, Ben Poulter 3)
3 : 0  vs. Papakura City (Goals: Ben Poulter, Kris Yovich, Aleks Dabek)
 
Papakura tournament managers rated the 28 teams on points, goal difference, and corners won to calculate the final 8 teams for the championship, 8 teams for the plate, and 8 Teams for the consolation play offs.
Onehunga seeded 2nd  due to Three Kings Sauvarin gaining a slight goal difference advantage.
 
Championship Quarter Final:
Onehunga 4 : 0 vs. Birkenhead United  (Goals : Thomas McCloy, Sam Smith, Sarpreet Singh, Aleks Dabek)
 
Championship Semi Final:
Onehunga 2 : 0 vs. Fencible Rams  (Goals : Thomas McCloy, Ben Poulter)
 
ONEHUNGA WIN THE Championship Final vs. Papakura United 1 NIL !!!  (HT 0:0  Goal : Ben Poulter – pen.)
Credit must also go to Papakura who field many Wynrs players as well for a great effort on the day.
