MARIO HOFMANN – KONICHI WA FROM JAPAN!
04/07/2008
Here
is an update from WYNRS Academy player Mario
Hofmann who is on a 3 year soccer scholarship at
Kyoto Sanga.I have now been in Japan for 2 years and with the amount of training we do here, it’s like we are training for the army! We train 3 hours a day, within the 3 hours we normally do technique training and set plays, then a game and then finish with shooting exercises and physical training. The level of soccer that my team mates and other teams are at is of a very high and skillful standard. I thought being a good soccer player would be the key to success in becoming a pro soccer player. But just as important as performing like a superstar on the pitch, the same is expected in the school work. I’m not the most talented with the school part, but I do my best and show that I’m trying. I enjoy living and playing soccer in Japan, and also taking the same steps that Nakata (Japanese soccer legend) took to becoming a professional soccer player. I want to thank Wynton, Miya and the rest of the Wynrs staff, for believing in me and helping me to improve not just my soccer skills, but also my attitude and self discipline. Wynrs taught me that you don’t need to have money to follow your dreams, just the heart and dedication for it.
