Wynton World Cup 2019

Join Wynton Rufer for a 3-day Camp in Auckland and be in to win a trip to Germany!

An amazing opportunity for boys and girls from 8 - 13 years of age and any skill level to join Wynton Rufer at a 3 day camp to learn new skills, show off their existing skills and have some fun. A competition will be held on the final day where the winner will win an entry to the New Zealand Grand Final in Auckland in July 2019. The winner of the New Zealand Grand Final will win an all-expenses paid trip to the Wynton World Cup Finals in Germany!

Wynton World Cup 2018 winners

WYNRS World Cup 2018

Congratulations to Eastern Suburbs AFC for taking out this years’ WYNRS World Cup 2018 in Auckland!

Another great tournament this year with Eastern Suburbs crowned the winners after a nail-biting final with WYNRS.

Suwon FC and Waitakere United battled for 3rd and 4th with Suwon winning 6-0.

William Caulton toured twice with WYNRS to South Korea. He capped off a fantastic week at training with GC Zurich by meeting 1st team coach Thorsten Fink who is a former German Legend. William also got to watch the Europa League game FCZ 3 v Bayer Leverkusen 2 with Wynton in Zurich Switzerland.

FIFA Legends in London

Wynton Rufer and Maia Jackman, the “chosen ones”!

FIFA “The Best” awards were held in London recently. Wynton and Maia were part of the FIFA Legends chosen to attend the event. Luka Modric won “The Best” player award. Ronaldo and Mo Salah were second and third.

Robert Lewandowski shoots past Rufer

Bayern Munich star striker has broken Wynton Rufer's German Super Cup scoring record

Bayern Frankfurt Munich crushed Eintracht 5 - 0 with a hat trick from Lewandowski. His 3 goals takes his tally to 6 ahead of Rufer's 4 who had held the record since 1995.
Rufer was at the match in Frankfurt with a sell out crowd of 51,000.
The Bundesliga Super Cup Final was the season opening match between last years champions Bayern Munich and German Cup winner Frankfurt

Six Ex-WYNRS Players represent NZ in FIFA U-20 World Cup

Trevor Zwetsloot scored the only goal in the Oceania U 19 final. Both finalists NZ & Tahiti have qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland next year. The squad includes 6 ex-WYNRS Academy players: Willem Ebbinge (Wellington Phoenix / Scots College), Max Mata (Onehunga Sports), Kingsley Sinclair (Eastern Suburbs / Sacred Heart College), Robert Tipelu (Onehunga Sports), Leon van den Hoven (Eastern Suburbs), Trevor Zwetsloot (SV Werder Bremen).

SOCCERWORLD Cup Finals 2018

Spain wins 4-0 over Finland in men’s final. The Kiwis lose their 1/4 final clash

The World Championship 3 a side tournament on the island of Rügen , Baltic Sea has ended with Spain on top. NZ lose to Germany in the 1/4 final. Kosovo beat Germany in the women’s final.

WYNRS will host this U 13 international tournament in Auckland again this year. Our friends from Sth Korea are coming back again to play plus we are expecting teams from Australia & China to take part this year. We are hoping to play the tournament at Western Springs facility.

Akarana GC will host this super golf event again. Team Zenith Interiors won the event with Maurice & Artie Ward playing some magic golf to take home first prize. John Andrew Mazda sponsored the HOLE in ONE on the par 3 , 3rd hole. George Kanji was millimetres away from taking home a brand new Mazda. Our special guest was boxing superstar Joseph Parker. Sydney International Cup 2018

Sep 29 - Oct 3, 2018 two WYNRS teams will participate in Sydney and gain great international experience

Once again WYNRS will participate in the 2018 Sydney International Cup. This year we will play with two teams. U 10's & U 9's. Daniel Semp & Joshua Rufer are the two WYNRS coaches looking after both teams. Good luck again...

Wynton World Cup

Ihaia Gray will represent NZ on September 13-15, 2018 at the inaugural event

The inaugural Wynton World Cup will be played out in Bremen early September. The idea was created through the signing of USA soccer star Joshua Sargent now in to the first year of his 4 year contract at Werder Bremen. Players aged between 9-13 years will come from all over the world to compete at the world finals in Bremen. This skills competition for individual competitors has taken off in China & USA with 100's of kids taking part in the hope to qualify for the world finals. In Bremen the final two winning players will then shoot a penalty at half time Werder Bremen v Nürnberg. The game is scheduled for Sunday September 15 at home in front of 40,000 spectators. Good luck to NZ representative Ihaia Gray.

Aug 20 - Sept 2, 2018 our U12 team travels to South Korea for this amazing tournament

WYNRS U12 team will travel to South Korea for this amazing international tournament. Last year Santos from Brazil beat Celta Vigo from Spain in the final 4-1. See the schedule attached as well as the Events Calendar for WYNRS games

Werder Bremen 25th anniversary "Deutsche Meister" 1993

August 9 - 11, 2018

Wynton will travel to Germany again for the 25th anniversary of winning the German Championship with Werder Bremen, 1993. World famous German coach Otto Rehhagel who coached Werder Bremen during the six seasons Wynton played there, will turn 80 on August 8. 2019 will be the 4th year in a row of celebrations for Wynton & Werder. In 1994 Bremen won the German Cup final at the famous Berlin Olympic Stadium in front of 90,000 spectators. Wynton scored once in the 3-1 victory over Essen.

BUNDESLIGA LEGENDS in New York

World Cup Promotion Event with Wynton and other Bundesliga Legends

Wynton, together with other Bundesliga Legends, was recently invited to represent the German Football League (DFL) at the United Nations in New York. This World Cup promotion event also saw Paulo Sergio (FIFA World Cup winner from Brazil 1994) & Lothar Matthaus (winning captain for Germany in 1990) making guest appearances.
