Six Ex-WYNRS Players represent NZ in FIFA U-20 World Cup

Trevor Zwetsloot scored the only goal in the Oceania U 19 final. Both finalists NZ & Tahiti have qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland next year. The squad includes 6 ex-WYNRS Academy players: Willem Ebbinge (Wellington Phoenix / Scots College), Max Mata (Onehunga Sports), Kingsley Sinclair (Eastern Suburbs / Sacred Heart College), Robert Tipelu (Onehunga Sports), Leon van den Hoven (Eastern Suburbs), Trevor Zwetsloot (SV Werder Bremen).

The World Championship 3 a side tournament on the island of Rügen , Baltic Sea has ended with Spain on top. NZ lose to Germany in the 1/4 final. Kosovo beat Germany in the women’s final.

WYNRS will host this U 13 international tournament in Auckland again this year. Our friends from Sth Korea are coming back again to play plus we are expecting teams from Australia & China to take part this year. We are hoping to play the tournament at Western Springs facility.
